The mystery of the legendary UFO crash over Mexico

In Coyame, Mexico, in 1974, an unidentified flying object collided with a small plane. American and Mexican authorities immediately responded to the accident, sending rescuers. The subsequent events remained a mystery until, at the beginning of this century, Mexico became a popular destination for ufologists due to numerous reports of UFO sightings. The investigations revealed strange details of this long-standing story.

On August 25, 1974, a small plane took off from El Paso, Texas, and headed for Mexico City.

The plane moved on its course, while the US Department of Defense radar tracked a UFO flying over the Gulf of Mexico towards Corpus Christi, Texas. It was around 22: 07. At first, because of its speed, the authorities thought it was a meteor. But then he started to change course.

The object slowed down and landed in Coyame, a peaceful Mexican town in the desert, 64 km from the US border, with a population of only 2,500 people. After that, the object disappeared from the radar. An hour later, civil radio announced that a plane had crashed in Coyame.

In Coyame, Leandro Valeriano studies the wreckage of a plane that supposedly collided with a UFO in 1974. According to one version, the US authorities destroyed the traces of the collision by blowing up the wreckage.

The next morning, the Mexican authorities began searching for the fallen civilian plane. The exiled team found part of the wreckage, then the authorities informed them about the crash site, which was located a few kilometers away. The American government offered to help in the search, but this offer was rejected.

Despite the refusal, the American Fort Bliss, located near El Paso, equipped a rescue team and continued to observe the actions of the Mexican rescue group from the air. These events were described by researchers Noe Torres and Ruben Uriarte.

Their main source of information was a mysterious document called the "Deneb Report", which was sent anonymously to ufologists in the 90s of the last century. Other sources include eyewitness accounts from local residents who saw the mid-air collision. The authors also received an anonymous message on their Wikipedia page that included the names and serial numbers of Mexican soldiers and some U.S. officials implicated in the incident. They are currently busy verifying this data, which they say is promising, but they are not yet ready to disclose any names.

According to the sources mentioned above, the Mexican forces placed the wreckage in their trucks and began to move south. The American authorities ordered their rescuers, watching from the air, to lower the altitude. They saw that for some reason the convoy had stopped.

The air escort reported that all the equipment carrying the cargo is standing still, there are two immobilized bodies on the ground. The decision was made to force assistance, despite the reluctance of the Mexican side to accept this assistance.

When the American rescue team arrived at the site on August 26 at 16: 00, dressed in chemical protection suits, they saw a frightening picture. All the Mexican soldiers were dead and sitting in the back of the truck. Nearby was a metal plate with a diameter of about 4.8 m, steel-colored, without markings.

According to Torres and Uriarte, the cause of their deaths was unknown, and rescuers did not have time to find out. In addition, if the soldiers were killed by some kind of biological weapon, then it was dangerous to send their bodies for examination. A civilian plane crashed as a result of a high-speed collision. The disk also had some damage caused by the collision.

The American forces decided not to waste time: with the help of explosives, they destroyed the remains of the Mexicans, their transport, and the wreckage of a civilian plane and screwed the flying saucer to their military transport helicopter.

Thus, the American rescue team transported the cargo to the United States, leaving only rumors and legends about the UFO collision in Coyame. Some elderly residents of Coyame remember the soldiers driving through the city that day, while others remember the accident itself.

Today, the authorities of Mexico and the United States deny the incident, the archival publications of the Coyame newspaper for this month have disappeared. The only report that sheds light on the incident is an article in the newspaper El Heraldo de Chihuahua dated October 27, 1974, which mentions that a group of Mexican soldiers died during military transport.
