UFO and mermaid — why the map of the 16th century show an alien ship?
Ancient geographical maps amaze even modern scientists with their content and design. Artists of the past willingly drew terrible monsters and different types of creatures on maps, which aroused interest and even fear among people.
How did the mermaid get a UFO?
There is a map of South and North America, created in the middle of the 16th century. It depicts many different creatures, from real-life monkeys to mythical mermaids. The size of this map is amazing, it was drawn on 6 huge sheets. All of them have already been glued together in the Belgian city of Antwerp. It was the official map of America until the mid-18th century. Strange creatures were drawn on the map to prevent people from traveling to unknown lands. Sailors often talked about monsters, but it is impossible to say for sure whether they saw them or not. Sometimes they took whales for monsters, gave descriptions to artists, and they displayed them on maps.
A mermaid holds a flying saucer in her hands
On the old map, there are reservoirs, volcanoes, and mountains. The large-scale picture is complemented by diverse fauna and flora. In addition, there are images of fairy-tale characters-mermaids, God's chariots, and giants of Patagonia. But the most surprising image of a UFO. If you study all the characters of the huge map well, you will notice that one of the mermaids is holding an object in her hands – an exact copy of a flying saucer. There is another mermaid who looks in the mirror, which also looks like an unidentified flying object. But did people think about aliens in those days?
Mutants and aliens
Especially close to the study of UFOs came in the United States, but it was in the middle of the 20th century. After studying the map, there was a version that the aliens were known in the 16th century, and maybe earlier. And why does a mermaid hold a UFO in her hands, is the "saucer" somehow connected with these mythical creatures, around which there are also many legends.

Mermaids are in the legends of a very large number of countries, so ufologists are interested in the map of the 16th century. But no one has given an exact answer to what the mermaid is holding in her hands.
The map itself is very detailed. It is amazing how people in those days, without modern instruments for studying the world, managed to create such an accurate map.
