A bizarre mask or aliens in Ancient China?

A few weeks ago, Chinese scientists reported that they had made a major archaeological discovery. Making another excavation, they found a very interesting golden mask at least 3000 years old. It was found along with a treasure trove of artifacts. The site is being excavated at Sanxingdui, a Bronze Age archaeological site located in Sichuan Province, China.

The aliens wear masks

This finding has sparked a very serious online debate. Why? Because the appearance of the found mask is very unusual. And it raised a perfectly reasonable question - are the aliens involved in this whole story? Could it be that in China, thousands of years ago, aliens were quietly walking around?

Proponents of traditional scientific misconceptions are boring people. They believe that this mask was probably worn by a simple priest. And it was he who owned another 500 different artifacts discovered nearby. All these subjects, as mentioned above, have become the subject of extensive discussion both in China and abroad. Yes, this mask is similar to the bronze statues found here earlier. However, in this case, there is a nuance. After all, the object has obviously inhuman features. Therefore, the discovery caused speculation that it was not made for a person at all. But in fact, it was made by mysterious aliens. And made strictly for the aliens! Or, if you prefer that word, for aliens

China's state broadcaster CCTV even conducted a special survey among concerned Chinese citizens. And he showed that the vast majority of ordinary people believe that the ancient bronze mask found would be more suitable for a character from the space movie "Avatar". Rather than for the average Chinese.

Does this mean that the artifact was definitely made by aliens? Why not? Name at least one argument against it! Although, perhaps, these finds simply belong to some other civilization. For example, the Sumerians. And these guys, in their mythology, have all sorts of incomprehensible aliens.

There are no aliens!

The arguments went on, but suddenly the director of the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Wang Wei, appeared on the stage of the imaginary studio. And immediately rushed to refute the theory of aliens. (Of course. These people do not recognize aliens, even after drinking a cup of coffee with them).

There is absolutely no chance that the mask from Sanxingdui belongs to representatives of an alien civilization, he told CCTV. Yes, wide-open eyes look somewhat exaggerated. But this happened only because the creators of this mask wanted to repeat the appearance of some deity. And so this finding can not be interpreted as imitating the appearance of ordinary people

after thinking, he added. And then he ran away.

Well, then. In some ways, of course, the scientist is right. Immediately run and congratulate passers-by with the fact that we now know what the aliens look like, of course, too early. However, Wang Wei did not explain why the deities of the ancient Chinese have such strange and, to put it mildly, unusual faces for these places?

For reference: the Sanxingdui monument dates from 2800-1100 BC. It is included in the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. This place was first discovered in the 80s of the last century.
