Analysis of UFO Cases in Mexico: Evidence and Implications

UFO Sightings in Mexico: An In-Depth Analysis

Ufology in Mexico has come full circle and returned to the beginning. It was here that the first known photograph of a strange object in the sky was taken more than 100 years ago, and then, against the background of incredible ufo activity in South America, a period of relative calm began in Mexico, which lasted until 1991.

The earliest UFO photo in Mexico

This year, a major wave was noted, which aroused such intense public interest that countless TV shows and tabloid newspaper headlines flashed before the eyes of the audience. Journalist Jaime Mossan, who became the most famous mouthpiece of the ufo community, traveled the world with a series of lectures on the evidence he discovered.

The belief of Mexicans in contacts with aliens is very strong, although there have been only a few such cases in the country. Not much is known about the official investigations conducted by the Mexican government, although there was a period of active cooperation with the American ufo group in 1948, when rockets launched from New Mexico deviated from the course and exploded in a cemetery on the other side of the border. This incident soon began to be associated with a UFO crash that occurred during the same period in Mexico, after which the Mexican government allegedly allowed a US Air Force research team to cross the border to collect the remains and send them to the US military airbase Wright-Patterson.

Cases

In 1883, an astronomer working at the Zacatecas Observatory took a photograph showing a formation of black objects against the background of the solar disk. This is the only known UFO photo taken in the XIX century. In the early 50s, a number of reports about little people were received, but the number of unusual sightings was significantly inferior to countries such as Argentina and Brazil. In addition, there were no known cases of kidnappings, as was the case in other countries. It can be said that a ufo siesta has occurred in Mexico, although occasionally noteworthy cases have been noted. So, in May 1975, the pilot of a private plane, Carlos Montiel, experienced close contact with a small gray disk that approached his plane over Mexico City. A dangerous approach was recorded at the ground air traffic control center.

Subsequently, Carlos turned out to be one of the few eyewitnesses in South America who claimed that he was threatened by mysterious men in black. One day, on the way to Mexico City, he was stopped by men in a black car and warned not to appear in the TV studio where he was going to tell millions of viewers about what had happened.

The apogee of ufo activity in Mexico occurred in 1991, when there was a solar eclipse, and thousands of people assured journalists that they saw a slowly moving silver disk in the sky. Several amateur videos were made, which aroused mass interest, and commercial videotapes with recordings of events were distributed around the world. In fact, in most cases, eyewitnesses most likely observed bright stars and planets, as well as a meteostat that suddenly became noticeable against the darkened daytime sky. Jaime Mossan collected hundreds of fragments of video recordings made by eyewitnesses; some of them are of interest to ufologists, although most lend themselves to rational explanation.

The footage of the most striking case was obtained from an anonymous source and taken in August 1997; the film shows a huge disk hovering in broad daylight over the skyscrapers of Mexico City. The image is so plausible that it is either an irrefutable proof of the presence of an alien apparatus, or a perfectly compiled computer simulation.

Many signs point to the second version, including the fact that none of the millions of residents on the streets noticed the flying disk. However, the authenticity of the video recording is questionable and requires further analysis in subsequent articles.

Waves and special zones

Unlike other countries, most UFO sightings in Mexico occur near its largest city, Mexico City. Typically, there is an inverse relationship between UFO sightings and population density. Although small waves were observed in 1950 and 1965, the largest wave occurred in 1991.
