The sharpest picture of a flying saucer

UFO researchers are always faced with the problem of photographing and searching for clear images of UFOs. The thing is that UFOs are more noticeable at night, and most equipment does not allow you to clearly see the glowing object. However, do not despair, there is an officially confirmed by experts picture of a flying saucer from 1971.

In the fall of 1971, in Costa Rica, the Instituto Geográfico Nacional, the National Geographic Institute (IGN), was engaged in aerial photography as part of a preliminary study of future hydropower projects. Costa Rican Electricity Institute paid the bill to determine where the water would come from to purchase land for the Arenal Dam project development.

So, on September 4, 1971, at 8:25 a.m., an experienced pilot, Omar Arias, flew a twin-engine Canadian Aero-Commander F680 aircraft at an altitude of 3 kilometers above Lake Cote (in Spanish, Cote de Lago). They were flying in the northern part of Costa Rica, 4 km north of the Arenal region and 40 km south of the border with Nicaragua.

On board were photographer Sergio Loaiza, aerial photographer, geographer Juan Bravo, and topographer Francisco Reyes. Loaiza used the R-M-K 15/23 camera to take photos. This is specialized heavy equipment designed for creating maps. Specifically, this device was donated by Germany. The camera was attached under the fuselage of the aircraft. As a film, a black-and-white emulsion with an ASA 80 speed was used, which made it possible to obtain high-resolution negatives. The device, known as an intervalometer, on the camera was set to take one photo every 20 seconds. The camera was set to focus at infinity, and the exposure was triggered automatically.

No one - neither the pilot nor the three crew members-saw anything while they were in the air and doing their job. But when Loaiza returned and developed the film in the following days, he had the surprise of a lifetime waiting for him. The developed negatives were printed on Kodak Safety aerial film, type 3665. Class A.

It is worth noting that even after the photos were developed, no one immediately noticed anything strange. Only when viewing photos in the process, Loayza enlarged the images, and then carefully examined the negative. It was during this often difficult and boring work that he first realized what they had captured on film.

In one of the shots (No. 300), the film showed what appeared to be a huge metal disk. It was breathtakingly clear thanks to the film and the quality of the camera. This object was not visible in the previous frame of the film (#299), nor in the subsequent one (#301).

UFO clear photo

There are a few key elements to evaluate this photo. The image covers an area of approximately 11 km by 11 km, and it's all in clear focus. Given that the altitude above sea level is fixed, it was also possible to get a good guess about the size of the object. Finally, this object is visible on a uniform surface - the black background of the lake, which contrasts with the disc-shaped object itself.

All that said, it's a damn good photo. This is probably the best UFO photo ever taken. It was taken in the 70s from a government mapping plane in Costa Rica that had a camera attached to the bottom of the plane. The images clearly show a disc-shaped object, and you can clearly see the sun reflecting off that object with a small dot on top, and what's important about this image is that it was a government photo. There is a clear chain of custody. It has always been in the possession of the Government of Costa Rica, so there is no doubt that it is genuine.

Photographer Sergio Loaiza, who first discovered the UFO and reported it to his employers, later said that the government of Costa Rica immediately classified this photo:

At the time, we were forbidden to talk about it, we couldn't tell anyone.

Here's what he says:

The negative of the film was handed over to Ricard Vilchez, who led a civilian UFO study group in San Jose, by photographer Sergio Loaiza only in 1980.

Loaiza said that the equipment was so high-precision that if there was dust, the photo was not created, the automatic system would work:

There was no room for error. This disc-shaped object is really real.

He said:

After the meeting between Vilchez and Loaiza, the photo was sent to the Ground Saucer Watch (GSW) group in the USA. The team leader, William Spaulding, carefully checked it and came to the conclusion that it was genuine.

In 1985Dr. Jacques Valli  (the famous UFO researcher )visited Vilches in Costa Rica, he managed to get a negative of this photo. Valli checked it out through contacts in the U.S. government and at a California tech company. Neither group had the time or money to devote their efforts to analysis, so two years later, in December 1987, Valley took the photo to Dr. Richard Haynes, a retired aerospace engineer who worked for NASA and whom Valley knew in San Francisco, and Haynes rolled up his sleeves.

The photo was digitized, enlarged, and analyzed. Initially, Haynes focused on lighting. It turned out that the image of the disk has shades of light/dark, characteristic of a three-dimensional object illuminated by collimated light, such as sunlight. It looks like a shallow cone with an axis of symmetry and a darker dot or area at the top of the cone. Haynes also noted that one side has a sharp focus, while the other is diffuse and amorphous. It seemed to him that the darker area might not be a shadow, but a lighter area-the source of the light.

UFO cool photo

In 1989, Valli and Haynes wrote "A Photo analysis of an Air Disk over Costa Rica" for the Journal of Scientific Exploration.

The photo is authentic and the object is not the result of some mistake. Our research allowed us to obtain the results according to which in the photo we can observe an opaque anomalous air object that was photographed at a distance of not more than 3 km from the camera lens.. There are no visible means of lifting or propelling, and no markings on the surface other than dark areas that appear to be non-random

The 19-page report concluded:

The laboratory in Costa Rica, which was the first to process the photo, estimates that the disk is almost 67 meters in diameter.

The original photos were also sent for analysis to France, where they were found to be authentic

There has always been speculation as to whether the device came out of Lake Kot or was about to enter it. Local residents tell many stories about the objects coming out of the lake. Since none of the negatives on either side of #300 shows a ship, or even rushing water, it is impossible to know about this. And yet, this giant UFO and is depicted with specific, clear details.

This original negative was preserved by the Government of Costa Rica and is in the National Archives of that country. It is important to understand that in addition to the original, there are also copies, one of which was considered by Valli and Haynes.

In one of the shots (No. 300), the film showed what appeared to be a huge metal disk. It was breathtakingly clear thanks to the film and the quality of the camera. This object was not visible in the previous frame of the film (#299), nor in the subsequent one (#301).

UFO clear photo

To sum up. As researchers of the UFO phenomenon, it is extremely important for us to have real pictures of UFOs, this is very rare. This will allow us to draw indirect conclusions about the types and types of devices and their characteristics in the light spectrum. And also get a little closer to the great UFO disclosure. And if Mr. Elon Musk still does not know where to look at a clear photo of a UFO to believe in these objects, feel free to give a link to this article. Let him get acquainted))))
