Nevertheless, scientists insist that people should wait for the first contact. Ideally, we need to wait for the moment when we catch up, or even better, surpass their technologies to avoid the risk of our destruction.

It is important to consider the potential risks associated with their advanced technology and our inability to defend ourselves. It is crucial that we approach any potential contact with caution and careful consideration.
Therefore, at the same meeting in Congress, scientists tried to convince the government to ban amateur astronomers from seeking contact with alien civilizations "you can't trust the future of our species to a bunch of amateurs."
Our system is young. We have created a computer, the Internet, neural networks, and rockets. It is possible that civilizations outside the Milky Way are highly developed, but it is uncertain whether they would be friendly. It is better to develop independently than to seek contact with an advanced, mysterious civilization.
