Cigar-shaped UFO in 1744

Our research team found a strange cigar-shaped object on an old engraving. We invite you to familiarize yourself with this UFO. But before we begin to build conspiracy and ufo versions, let's turn to the official information regarding this unusual celestial phenomenon.

cigar-shaped ufo

German text about comets and various sky phenomena; appeared on the occasion of the comet Klinkenberg (also "Der Große Komet von 1744"), which was discovered in December 1743 and which could be seen in the sky with the naked eye until April 1744. This comet is shown accordingly as a frontispiece engraved in copper in this edition. C/1743 X1 (unofficial name of Comet Chezo, fr. Comète de Chéseaux or Comet Klinkenberg-Chéseaux) is a spectacular and bright comet that was observed in 1743 and 1744. It was discovered by Jan de Munch on November 29, 1743 in Middelburg, was independently observed on December 9 by Dirk Klinkenberg in Haarlem and on December 13 by Jean-Philippe de Cheseau in Lausanne. The comet was visible to the naked eye for several months in 1744. The absolute magnitude was +0.5, which puts it in sixth place among comets in this indicator. The apparent magnitude probably reached -7.

Our research team found a strange cigar-shaped object on an old engraving. We invite you to familiarize yourself with this UFO. But before we begin to build conspiracy and ufo versions, let's turn to the official information regarding this unusual celestial phenomenon.

It would seem that the official information quite clearly helps us to understand what object we are talking about. But our view is not so clear. Firstly, the last time this comet was observed was in 1743 and 1744.
Astronomers observing C/1743 X1 testified that by the beginning of February, the comet had a curved tail up to 15 degrees, and its brightness eclipsed Sirius. On February 18, C/1743 X1 had a second tail, and it surpassed Venus in brightness. For several months in 1744, the comet could be observed with the naked eye, and at the end of February, it was visible even in daylight. In March 1744, C/1743 X1 reached its perihelion, approaching the Sun at a distance of 0.222209 AU, its absolute magnitude was +0.5, and the apparent magnitude was -7.

On March 6, 1744, C/1743 X1 appeared in the morning sky with six fan-like diverging tails. In the northern hemisphere, the comet was observed until March 9, 1744, in the southern hemisphere, it was last seen on April 22, 1744.

Comet C/1743 X1 has gone down in history as the owner of the largest number of tails, as well as as a comet that ranks sixth among comets in absolute stellar magnitude. There is still no consensus on the origin and nature of the multiple tails of C/1743 X1.

In other words, we do not have modern objective visual data, as well as the origin of the comet tails. Was it a comet? And if we assume that in the 18th-century people described everything as they could and as it seemed right to them. The modern man could see it in a completely different way.

It cannot be excluded that residents could observe different objects. Do you know why? Because here is an image of this comet from another engraving. Here it looks more like what we call comets.

C/1743 X1

Let's compare with the first image. IN OUR OPINION, THESE ARE CLEARLY DIFFERENT OBJECTS. The first image looks like a rocket or a cigar-shaped UFO. And what really happened in the sky, we cannot reliably say. The history of the past is shrouded in darkness and may not contain important information for us. However, visual information tells us that we see advanced technological objects in the past. And this proves once again that it is necessary to connect all our forces to the study of the past.
